Duong Tu Minh High School was formerly Quang Vinh City Secondary Agricultural High School.
On February 24, 1972, the Ceremony to announce Decision No. 212/TC - UB of the People's Committee of Ha Trung province on the establishment of "Quang Vinh City Secondary Agricultural Secondary School" was under the leadership of the City People's Committee in all aspects, and at the same time under the leadership of the Department of Education in terms of professional expertise. September 20, 1960 was also the opening day of the first course with 108 students.
In the early days of its establishment, the school's facilities were still lacking. The school was a simple thatched roof built on a sparsely populated deserted hill in Doi Trong ward, Quang Vinh city.
In 1987, the school moved to a new location, taking over the premises of Nguyen Minh Phuong Primary School in Quang Vinh Ward, Quang Vinh City.
From the 1990-1992 school year, the school was the first unit in Ha Trung province and one of fifteen schools nationwide to pilot the specialized program. The school has gained a lot of experience in implementing the program and contributed to the Ministry of Education and Training.
When moving to a new location - No. 123, Duong Tu Minh Street, Quang Tu Ward, Quang Vinh City, to have a suitable name, the school requested the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial People's Committee to change the school's name. On March 28, 1992, the People's Committee of Ha Trung Province issued Decision No. 23/QD - UB to change the name of the Agricultural High School for Part-time Study to Duong Tu Minh High School.
The 60-year journey of construction and development of Duong Tu Minh High School has left good impressions and profound lessons about steps and development.
Một nhà trường ra đời từ sự quyết tâm của Đảng bộ thành phố Quang Vinh. Trường luôn đi đầu trong việc thực hiện thí điểm các hình thức giáo dục mới như: Phổ thông công nghiệp, PTTH vừa học vừa làm, PTTH chuyên ban…; không chùn bước trước mọi khó khăn. Năng động và sáng tạo đã trở thành truyền thống của nhà trường. Trường THPT Duong Tu Minh, nơi mà tinh thần quyết tâm, sáng tạo, ý thức tự lực tự cường qua bao tháng năm thử thách đã trở thành nét truyền thống vững bền.
After nearly 60 years of construction and development, many teachers have grown up from the school, becoming good managers, good teachers or growing up in other fields. Up to now, the school has built a team of cadres, teachers and employees with good moral qualities, good expertise, strong politics, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning. From this school, many generations of students have grown up, some have excelled to become senior leaders, taking on great responsibilities, some have become good managers, successful businessmen, doctors, engineers, officers, policemen... Although in different positions in life, generations of students of the school are all useful citizens, contributing a lot to the cause of building the homeland, the country and the development of Duong Tu Minh High School in particular.
With the help and facilitation of leaders at all levels, the efforts of generations of cadres, teachers, staff and students, the coordination of sectors, businesses, mass organizations, social organizations and parents, the school's facilities are now relatively synchronous, spacious, the environment is green - clean - beautiful - safe - friendly, meeting the requirements of teaching and learning, serving students well.
